The IULAA will honor an alumna or alumnus who demonstrates commendable
service in their chosen field of endeavor and award three $500 student
scholarships to exemplary IU system-wide Latino students at a banquet on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 5:30–9 p.m. at the Virgil T. DeVault Alumni Center
in Bloomington, Ind. The event is open to IU alumni from all eight
campuses and their friends and guests (including non-IU affiliated
guests). Admission is $25, and includes fine
dining, cash bar, and great entertainment.
Alumni/Student Networking Session featuring presentations from prominent
IU alumni, co-hosted by the IULAA and the La Casa –on Saturday
afternoon from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Samba, Salsa, Rumba at the Lotus World Music and Arts Festival (separate
cost) held annually in Bloomington and named in part for Indiana
musician Lotus Dickey (1911-1989). This festival, taking place September
20 -23, celebrates the diversity, beauty, and joy of music and arts

Saturday: Fiesta del Otono Fall Cultural Festival!
Take a trip through Latin America, right here in Bloomington! Join us in
celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at this sixth annual event
Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bloomington Farmers
Market, 401 N. Morton St. next to City Hall. Local Latino artists and
community members from many different Latin American and Caribbean
countries will showcase their traditions and talents through food,
dance, music, children's activities, and more. Bring the whole family!

Sunday: Brunch Anyone?
Before heading out of town or catching the final offerings at the Lotus
Festival, let’s meet, greet, and eat at a farewell brunch (separate
cost) at La Torre Restaurant, 1155 S. College Mall Road. Join us if you
